Home Wood

Early August I stopped by the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach and came across these amazing wood goblets hand crafted by a local woodturner, David Sullenger, who only takes tree cuttings from his surrounding community members.

So, people have their trees trimmed and call David to pick up their cut tree limbs and he literally turns them into usable pieces of art. Amazing.

I would love for them to be a part of our wedding and a part of our lives. And to make it extra special I want to use the wood from a tree in my parents front yard. The tree standing next to my cousin Valeria in the picture below:

This Family Tree has names and dates of our CA and Ecuador family who have visited and our beloved pets that have come and gone carved into the trunk. It would mean a lot to have toasting goblets made out of the limbs of this tree.

The wooden chalice in the background looks like it’s growing out of Vanessa’s head.
